Why not take up a language for free?

The Language Centre are offering exciting opportunities to learn Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish for free.

The courses are at two levels:

  • All of these languages are offered at beginners level 1.1 and will introduce you to a new language and culture.
  • Chinese Mandarin, French, Japanese and Spanish are offered at Elementary User level 1.2 for students who have already completed level 1.1 and wish to continue and students who already have elementary knowledge of their chosen language.

The courses are open to all UEL staff and are free, but places are limited and the application deadline is 20 September 2012.

The lessons will be communicative, friendly and fun, as well as getting you started on the adventure of learning to speak another language, which is one of the most enriching experiences that you can have.

Lessons will take place as follows at both our Stratford and Docklands Campus:
