Recently students from all over Britain gathered in the nation's capital to protest the government's plans to treble tuition fees while cutting higher education spending by up to forty percent. The demonstration, which had been called by the National Union of Students and the Universities and Colleges Union, attracted over 50,000 students, most of whom took to the streets in peaceful protest.
