About Film & Moving Image
Our courses in the area of film and moving image include Photography, Illustration, Moving Image, Independent Film and Film and Video. Courses are structured to provide a supportive environment that encourages students to take risks and to experiment with ideas.
We actively encourage a trans-media approach across the programmes in the field, giving all students opportunities to utilise both digital and analogue technologies. We have expertise and resources in media as diverse as 16mm film, stop motion, 2D & 3D modelling and animation, desktop publishing, web design, printmaking, letterpress, computer programming, virtual reality, specialist black and white photographic techniques as well as drawing and visualisation. In addition, we also place students off site, in external service facilities, to study specialist techniques such as colour photographic printing, book making and motion capture for animation.
