If you are interested in these questions then International Politics could be the programme for you.
In studying this programme you will learn about the philosophies and ideologies that shape political thought; the relationship between politics and society; the way in which the core institutions of government work; the way in which international organisations work and the external relations between sovereign states. Our programme gives special emphasis to external pressures, both political and economic, to which modern nation states are subject.
Politics is everywhere – wherever power is exercised, wherever decisions are made that affect society, wherever there is conflict over beliefs, values and social goals. This programme focuses on key issues in the contemporary political debate in order to help you understand those issues and to be better equipped to appreciate what it means to be a citizen today.
You can combine this programme with a range of other subjects as part of a 2-subject degree. Popular combinations include Business Economics and International Politics, and
