The construction industry is one where there has always been close co-operation between designers, planners and contractors. This programme will reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of the construction industry by consolidating civil engineering, civil engineering surveying and construction management strands taught at UEL. This programme benefits from existing accreditation with the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building. This programme will suit those working in the construction industry who are looking to obtain a formal qualification, or for full-time students aiming for a more vocational route in to industry.
Study is based on two years full-time or three years part-time. The programme is modular and is based on core studies supported by a number of optional modules leading to greater flexibility of specialisations within the areas of study. Students undertake core modules for two-thirds of the course then elect to study route specific modules to follow one of the following routes with the remainder:
We have strong links with industry and host regular site visits to current construction projects and other networking opportunities as part of the programme of study. The Programme involves a range of work placement options and in the final year full time students will be assisted in securing a block work placement in industry for up to 4 days a week to meet the work based learning requirements of the course.
