Programme summary for BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering Surveying

A highly practical degree, Civil Engineering Surveying places a strong emphasis on technological and practical aspects of the subjects.

Civil engineering surveyors are specialist professionals involved in construction projects from the initial design and planning through to completion of the works and often beyond. They measure, map and monitor to enable design, build and stability. It is their expertise that ensures that high-rise buildings are vertical, tunnels arrive at the correct locations or that bridges meet in the middle.

This degree gives you the opportunity to study the specialist area of surveying in a civil engineering context. The programme combines study of modern surveying measurement techniques alongside aspects of construction, contract management and the responsibilities of the engineering professional.

Together with core transferable skills that the programme also develops, this degree will provide a solid basis for a career in a profession with a wide range of employment opportunities both in the UK and overseas.
