This programme considers the operation of organisations within an international context and looks at specific issues that affect the international business community.
You explore the interplay between business systems and cultures, ethnicity, global media, technology and markets.
The programme provides a solid grounding in key business and management techniques and offers skills and knowledge relevant to today’s globalised marketplace.
This programme focuses on the way in which businesses operate across borders. It explores the complex and dynamic interplay between organisations and business systems and considers issues such as producing, promoting and distributing goods and services and the impact of culture/ethnicity on strategy. It provides a solid foundation for anyone considering a career in business or further studies within the business area.
The programme shares common modules with other Business Studies degrees in Level 1, as you learn principles and practices of accounting, organisations and their structures, marketing and economics. In Levels 2 and 3 the focus switches to international issues such as globalisation and cross-border logistics and you also choose from a wide range of optional modules. Assessment is by a combination of coursework and examinations, with a research project in Level 3.
These could include setting up or running a business and/or working with multi-national companies in banking, finance or retail and government or civil service. You may also opt to move on to an MBA or Masters degree. Some of our students go on to take professional qualifications in their chosen field.
