Looking to gain a university qualification whilst at work?
Work-based Learning [WBL] at UEL provides you with the opportunity to achieve a recognised university qualification directly related to the activities of your job and enables you to fit study around your work. As well as offering a range of learning options it will also develop your skills to give you the confidence to go on learning and improving your personal effectiveness.

Foundation Degree in Professional Development

We run a Foundation Degree in Professional Development. This is a part-time programme which allows you the freedom to study subjects that are of interest to you and relevant to your work. There is a wide choice of modules to choose from, many of which are offered by distance learning or in the evenings.

This BA Applied Professional Studies programme is designed specifically for students who have successfully completed the FdA Professional Development (FDPD) and who wish to progress to a level 3 study and obtain an honours award.

UEL Connect Leading European Virtual Campus Project

UELconnect is the lead partner is an exciting pan-European project that will focus on innovative and authentic work based learning . The E-ViEW project is funded by the EACEA’s Lifelong Learning Programme and E-ViEW partners are developing and piloting a European Virtual Campus aimed at learners in the work place which will focus on enhancing their management skills and competences within a European context.

The project began with a needs analysis and this is followed by the creation of the Virtual Campus Framework, currently in development. This framework utilizes a customised open source delivery methodology and a work-based learning module based on the needs analysis aimed at trainee managers in European enterprises. The module with an emphasis on working within Europe will be piloted with at least 100 employees in the UK, Poland, Portugal and Ireland early in 2012.

Concrete outcomes from E-ViEW will include a Virtual Campus Framework for Work-based learning with a sample undergraduate module, a pilot implementation of this course and an online handbook with a description of the experiences gained in creating and delivering this course in the Virtual Campus Framework for Work-based Learning. The E-ViEW project is being delivered in partnership with the National College of Ireland, the University of Lodz in Poland, University of Porto in Portugal and Belgium based e-learning specialists ATiT.
