I graduated from Brunel University after gaining a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design and Technology. I then worked as a Web and Graphic Designer in the salvage industry. This involved developing online auction and catalogue websites as well as producing brochures, flyers and newsletters regarding law and regulation changes.
I joined UEL in January 2004 and as Learning Materials Developer I am responsible for the production of learning materials for the University which are both accessible to W3C standards and SENDA compliant. The materials I produce range from web based materials using XHTML/CSS and javascript, Videos, Flash animations and quizzes and podcasts, to CD-ROM's and print based materials such as flyers, leaflets and study guides. I am also responsible for the administration of our Virtual Learning Environment (UEL Plus) and I work closely with our E-learning team producing materials for students and staff on this system.
I also designed and developed the print materials template and provide coaching and support to academic staff on how to use it effectively as well as looking after the departments websites.
