Distance Learning

Distance Learning Explained

We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes and modules that can be studied by distance learning.

Why choose distance learning?

Studying by distance learning enables you to fit your studies around your work or other commitments without having to attend face-to-face tutorials or lectures. We offer a range of structured study programmes which allow you to take control of how, where and when you learn. Study material is provided by post, email or online via our virtual learning environment. This means that you can still upgrade your skills, further your knowledge or enhance your career opportunities even if you:

Added value

By successfully completing a distance learning degree programme, you not only display relevant knowledge, skills and understanding to an employer but also demonstrate that you are able to manage your time effectively, that you are self-motivated and already have a good work ethic – all of which will give you the edge you need to find success in the real world.

Examinations and assessment

The examination and assessment requirements will vary from course to course, but in most cases you will be required to attend an examination centre for time-based assessments. You may also be required to undertake a variety of assessments including essays, virtual presentations or online discussions.

As a distance learning student, you will receive the same high quality of service as our campus-based students: you will work towards exactly the same learning outcomes, receive the same award at the end of your studies and have access to highly qualified academic tutors and subject specialists.

"In my line of work, I may be managing resources in Europe, North Africa or the Middle East, so when travelling, the flexibility of distance learning is simply invaluable."
