Starting from this new academic year, there will be a new system and structure for sports opportunities for students. UELSports has been set up by the Director of Sport (David Cosford), and will drive ambitious plans to become a leading Sports University in the future.
This year there are many opportunities to join, train and compete for our sports clubs. UELSports offers a variety of sports clubs from Football and Rugby to Karate and Taekwondo. Please e-mail UELSports@uel.ac.uk for more information and to register your interest.
This year we have also set up arrangements with local clubs for boxing, judo, rowing, athletics, badminton and karate. We are also looking at volleyball, handball and futsal.
Clubs welcome beginners through to more experienced players, so get involved!
FREE Learn to Swim Courses
In partnership with the local Council there are many Free of Charge Learn to Swim courses available running from the Atherton Centre pool in Stratford, just for our students. These sessions start in early November, so e-mail UELSports asap registering your interest.
During the year there will also be inter school competitions, sports events, studio classes, fitness sessions and much more to enable you to have fun, exercise and keep fit.
We have a new UELSports webpage currently being designed, so keep your eyes open for it when it launches! In the meantime, we have some information which you may find useful on the following pages:
