The Regional Access Centre East London, based at the University of East London’s Stratford Campus provides assistive technological and study strategy assessments for students, in support of their application for the Disabled Student’s Allowance (DSA).
The Centre is accredited through DSA-QAG (the Disabled Student’s Allowance Quality Assurance Group) who provides a quality assurance service for assessment centres and suppliers involved in the delivery of the Disabled Students' Allowance scheme in England and Wales.
We assess your needs based on the medical evidence you submit to your funding body and the personal account of the difficulties you are experiencing with your studies, before drawing up a report known as a Study Aids and Strategies Assessment, which is commonly referred to as a Needs Assessment.
The report outlines the technological and personal support we recommend to assist you in your studies, as part of your application for the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA). This report is then sent to your funding body for approval.
