Meningitis C Information

Meningitis is a very serious disease. Meningitis can appear in a very short amount of time, the consequences can last a lifetime.

What Is Meningitis?

Meningitis is inflammation on the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. There are 2 different types of Meningitis:

Meningitis C falls within this type of meningitis. This is the type of meningitis that younger people are more prone to.

Different bacteria can cause meningitis. Meningococcus is the most common cause of bacterial meningitis.

With both types of meningitis the after effects and impact can last a lifetime. That is why it is so important to act quickly if you have any signs or symptoms.

There is also a condition called Meningococcal Septicaemia. This can cause Meningitis and Septicaemia.

Signs and Symptoms

Signs and symptoms can be similar to flu, in the first instance:
