Counselling is not about telling you what to be or what to do and your counsellor won’t offer you advice. Instead your counsellor will listen closely and encourage you to also listen to your own emotions, gain insights and then make and act on your own choices.
Don’t embark on counselling because someone else thinks it would be good for you – it is a decision for you to make voluntarily and for yourself.
We are organisational members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
