This excellent website gives an overview of income tax and NI contributions. It is aimed at 11-19 year olds but the information is clear and relevant. Make sure you stay informed and that you do not overpay your taxes. DID YOU KNOW that everyone is entitled to earn up to £6,475 tax free? This means that most students should not be paying any tax. Check your payslips and if you are paying tax, you may be entitled to a refund. See the Taxmatters website for more information.
