“UEL is a tremendous place to study and meet students from all over the world. Duncan House has a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, a cafe which serves Halal Food and prayer room, which were a great comfort to me. And the Docklands Campus is stunning.

“I chose UEL because I saw it was the only British university offering a Master’s degree in Terrorism Studies. It’s an excellent programme taught by some of the world’s leading international experts, at the cutting edge of research and policy advice.”

An outsanding student throughout his academic career, Saqlain was awarded a bursary of £2,000 to study at UEL. Having survived a bomb blast in his own country, Saqlain hopes his research will contribute to a safe, more peaceful world.

Saqlain Shakir is an International student from Pakistan with a background in Law and International Studies. Upon finishing his degree in MSc Terrorism Studies, Saqlain intends to study for a PhD.
