Darren Baffour-Gyimah

BA (Hons) Journalism and Print Media

“The thing that impressed me most about UEL was the sense of unity between my fellow students and our students. We all worked really well together and regularly stayed late after class to complete projects."

“I’m so grateful to my tutors. They all have great expertise in their fields and they always gave us huge amounts of support and encouragement.”

Thanks to the UEL-based National Mentoring Consortium, Darren worked for six months at Channel 5 News. Mentored by news editor Gary Rogers, Darren was short-listed for the coveted Mentee of the Year Award.

Darren Baffour-Gyimah’s decision to study Journalism and Print Media at UEL stemmed from his desire to question the status quo. He has since completed an acclaimed documentary, filmed all over London, along the themes of immigration, belonging and identity.
