Welcome international students, welcome to London, and welcome to UEL. We understand the commitment that you are making by travelling abroad to study. We want to make sure that you can settle in quickly by running a number of activities, exercises and trips to familiarise you with British culture and to give you a chance to see the sights.
Prior to First Week, our new international students are invited to attend our free International Welcome Programme. The orientation includes various information workshops about such issues as immigration and working in the UK; an introduction to British culture; Student Services; Library Services; the Students’ Union; English for Academic Purposes or Study Skills and confirmation about what the International Office can do for you.
In addition to all of the informative parts of the orientation, the programme also includes plenty of social activities including coach trips, cultural tours, sports and lots of fun activities.
The International Students Welcome Programme takes place at the Docklands Campus.
