What is enrolment?
Enrolment is the process by which you sign up to UEL’s conditions and regulations, pay your tuition fees (or let us know who will be paying them) and obtain your student identity card (Still need to enrol? Click here to enrol online now
Does this include registering for the modules I will be studying?
No. Module registration is a separate exercise and you must do this as well as enrolling with us. Even if you attend modules, if you don’t register for them, any marks you might obtain cannot be counted towards your degree.
How do I register for my modules?
If your School has set up the module diets you will be able to do this in UEL Direct after you have enrolled. You may even find that this has been done for you – check your module details under ‘My Record’ in UEL Direct. If there are no modules registered against your record you will need to see your School – there should be a slot for this during your induction programme.
Where do I go to enrol?
All enrolment is done online and you can do this from any pc with access to the internet provided that your record is ready (this will be shortly after your offer has become unconditional). If you don’t have access to a pc your School will have a slot set aside for this during your induction programme. This will be on the Trading Floor in the Business School. However, you will save yourself a lot of time if you do it in advance of coming to UEL.
How do I know if I can go online and enrol?
You would have been sent an email or letter with the login instructions. If you haven’t received an email or a letter don’t worry, you will be able to complete your enrolment during your School induction programme.
When can I enrol?
As soon as you receive the email or letter with login instructions. You will save yourself a lot of time if you enrol in advance of coming to UEL.
How can I find out when my School enrolment slot is?
Please take a look at your School induction enrolment slot which will be published in the next few days. Find your school and then your programme of study and it will tell you when you can complete any outstanding enrolment requirements.
My School slot is on Thursday and I’d like to enrol earlier in the week . Can I do this?
You can enrol anywhere and at any time provided that you can find a PC with access to the internet However, if you want to enrol on the Trading Floor you will need to wait until your School slot.
Why can’t I come along and enrol in person at any time?
All Schools have booked slots for completion of any outstanding enrolment requirements and that is when academic staff will be available to answer questions and resolve any problems. Also, if students attend whenever they like it makes things very difficult for the students who are turning up at the right time with their tutors.
Can I leave my enrolment until the next week?
Not unless you have very good reason and it has been agreed by your Sc hool. You should attend your induction programme during First Week and completing enrolment and obtaining your student identity card is part of this. It needs to happen before teaching starts.
I’ve missed my School enrolment slot. What can I do?
During the first teaching week staff will be available on the Trading Floor to assist latecomers to complete any outstanding enrolment requirements. However, this week is set aside for returning students so you should do what you can online before you come to the Trading Floor for your student identity card.
Do I need to bring any documents with me to my First Week?
You will need to bring the following with you:
I paid direct into UEL’s bank account/at Cashiers. Do I need to do anything else?
If you haven’t already done so, you need to enrol with us online. Even if you’ve done this, you must go online and click on “Please enrol with UEL” and follow the instructions. This will update your record to show that you have paid.
My employer is sponsoring me. How do I notify you of this?
As part of the enrolment process, you need to confirm how your fees will be paid. If your employer is sponsoring you, you need to select the option, ‘I expect to receive support from a commercial sponsor.’ You will then be asked if you have completed the Sponsorship Form, which both you and you sponsor need to complete. You will then need to forward this to Credit Control. Alternatively you can ask your sponsors to send a letter on headed paper stating how much they are sponsoring you for. Once either of these documents are received and processed by Credit Control, your enrolment will be complete.
I’m an international student and I’ve already paid 50% of my fees. Is this enough for me to enrol?
No, that is your deposit for the programme. You will either need to pay the rest of your fees in full or make the first instalment payment in order to complete your enrolment.
I need a letter to say I’ve enrolled – where can I get this?
You can print confirmation of your enrolment from My Record in UEL Direct. If you need a letter on headed paper (or a council tax exemption certificate) you should log in to UEL Direct, go to "My Record" and follow the link in the Student Services container.
