The UELSports Scholarship Programme is one of the most attractive in the UK, and enables elite athletes to balance study with their sporting ambitions. Our current sports scholars include Olympians, Paralympians and Senior Internationals who represent UEL at national and international University competitions.
The scholarships are particularly attractive for athletes within our Focus Sports (Athletics, Basketball, Amateur Boxing, Judo, Rowing, Tennis, Swimming, Volleyball), though we do offer support to athletes from the full spectrum of Olympic & Paralympic sports.
Scholarships are open to all Home/EU and International students. Applicants should be competing at a national or international level, and eligible individuals should apply for a sports scholarship as soon as they have received an offer of a place on an academic course at UEL.
Successful applicants will receive a range of support based on their sporting needs and performance level. Support includes:
These scholarships cover full international tuition fees and are open to individuals from any country outside the EU. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply. Applicants should apply for a place at UEL before they apply for a scholarship. For full details email m.tansley@uel.ac.uk
The newest additions to our Sports Scholarship Programmes are ASICS funded scholarships in the sports of athletics and tennis. The scholarships consist of funding towards the development of emerging athletics' talent for one academic year. Funding can be put towards competition and training costs and support to help an athlete maximise their potential within the sport.
The scholarships are funded through part of a legacy agreement with ASICS, one of our London 2012 Olympic Partners.
