Lead striker of UEL's women's football team

The weather was what can only be described as the UK’s version of a monsoon but nevertheless the match went on. UEL started strong with great passing and effective movement. For the first 15 minutes of the game each team was pretty even in ability with the play being worked around the adverse weather conditions as best as possible. After dominating spells of the first half, UEL fell asleep for a few minutes which lead to a silly goal being conceded to make the score 0-1 to Bucks New. Although the goal was petty, UEL did not let it get them down, still overpowering the opposition, fancy footwork from Lauren, Arva and Chloe lead to Holly crossing in the ball and it hitting the hand of a Bucks defender. Now up for a penalty, Holly Venn put the ball on the spot and slotted it into the far left hand corner, 1-1. As the half came to a close UEL were very much on top.
UEL were keen to get started again due to the freezing conditions. They started the half strong with a near miss from Zee. Then early on in the second half UEL blasted into the lead from a great ball by Chloe and a smashing finish from Lauren on the wing. Now New Bucks looked a little defeated, with the second half slowly coming to a close the fight started to become equal again. Either going to become 2-2 or 3-1, it was anyone’s game. Suddenly a tired Bucks team let UEL get a quick break. Some delicate dribbling from Arva meant she passed three defenders in the box and smashed the ball into the top right hand corner. The match ended 3-1 to UEL with a soaking wet, mud-coated team – but an altogether great team bonding performance.
