The East London team -a mix of their newly promoted 7th division 1st team and 10th division 2nd team, - comfortable beat their 2nd division rivals by 25 points.
UEL began and ended as the stronger team with Middlesex only starting to pick up the points in the second and third quarter as they altered their shooting techniques which started off inaccurate.
Middlesex worked hard to get the ball and were skilled at intercepting, their weaknesses only showing when they got closer to UEL’s D. The ball often went off court or they failed to retrieve the rebound, giving it away to UEL who rarely had a problem taking the ball down the court to the visitors net.
It wasn’t until the second quarter that Middlesex really started picking up the points and started closing the gap between themselves and the hosts but clumsy defending and obstruction meant that many free shots were given away, allowing the UEL attackers to secure the win
