Men's football 3rds

With a long trip to Canterbury and a beautiful pitch to play on the boys turned on the class. Heskey and Hughes-Mason again combined to put the blues in front. The force of the Benna Boys struck again for the second game in a row.

Similar situation to Hertfordshire, ten minutes in, Heskey beat the left back for pace and whipped in a cross for Hughes-Mason who took a touch to set himself and placed the ball top corner with his laces. A very composed finish from the Antiguan & Barbudan international, with two goals in two matches.

Shortly after, with neat work from Hughes-Mason, John and Heskey down the right hand side, Heskey again whips in a cross and this time Rick Goldsbrough takes the ball down and slots it home. UEL 2-0 up and cruising. With complete domination all over the park from UEL, Canterbury started to get their feel of the game and was awarded a harsh penalty as the ball accidentally hits the hand of Rick Goldsbrough as he slid in to block the cross. The Canterbury player slotted the ball home. 2-1 at the break.

Canterbury started the better team in the second half, they won a corner which they scored from which made the game 2-2. Striker Alan Egunyemi had been causing havoc to the centre backs of Canterbury, he was slotted through by Damien Connery. The Canterbury defender went in for a full blooded tackle at 100 miles an hour and got everything except the ball. The referee had no choice but to award the penalty. Kiernan Hughes-Mason stepped up and cooly guided the ball into the bottom left hand corner sending the keeper the wrong way.

UEL back in front but they didn't rest on their goal advantage they constantly went for the killer goal.Luqman Adesina was unlucky not to grab a goal after two terrific headers from set pieces. The game sparked into life in the last five minutes with tough tackles from Canterbury but UEL saw out the result. Final score UEL 3-2 Canterbury Christ Church.
