New faces fail to gel in home loss - Mens Football 2nds
East London 2nd 2 vs 4 Greenwich 3rd
A total of 8 new players started for UEL 2nd team on Wednesday afternoon as they went down 4-2 to Greenwich 3rd team.
UEL were always chasing the game after conceding within the first 30 seconds and despite playing the better footbal overall, failed to convert the chances they created. Greenwich on the other hand played a much less attractive style but managed to take advantages of mistakes made by the UEL defence.
A stand out performance from Aaron Thompson-Sommers in his first game for UEL showed his class and will see him playing for the 1st team in future weeks. His cross provided the 2nd goal but ultimately hopes of a come back were silenced when Greenwich counter-attacked while UEL were pushing forward with the score at 3-2 and sealed the win with 5 minutes to play.
