2nd team back to winning ways!!
University of East London 2nds 4 v 2 Goldsmiths 1st
By Martin Goldsmith
The 2nd team came up against a weak Goldsmiths side who had lost all their matches this season prior to Wednesdays game. However UEL found it hard to get into their own rhythm and style of football and began both halves slowly.
Goldsmiths took the lead after 15 minutes due to the slow start made by UEL as they struggled to compete with 50/50 challenges. However it was just the wake up they needed and the midfield quickly woke up, by half time UEL had turned the game on its head and lead 2-1 after an equaliser from Jay Jay who was making his first start for UEL.
The second half started slowly again for UEL who conceded again early on to make it level at two apiece. From them on the game was mostly dominated by UEL and as Goldsmiths chased the ball the game became more stretched, Michael Pudney & Craig Heskey started to run the midfield and 2 goals from MOM Liban Mohamed secured a hard earned win.
Other noticeable performances came from Marcus Miller with masses of energy for 90 minutes and Joe Nerssessian in goal who made some excellent saves.
Goal Scorers: Liban Mohamed (2), Jay Jay (2)
