Introduction

Men's + Women's Football Club

The UEL football club is a relatively new and is rapidly expanding with 3 men's and 1 women's teams, with fantastic knowledgeable coaches from Leyton Orient Football Club.

The club is made up of individuals who are passionate about football and about playing in a team. This allows you to persue your passion for football and also helps you with widely recognised skills such as team work not just your playing ability and forming lasting friendships with both the men's & women's teams on and off the field at our many social events.

So if you have a passion for football or want to join a fun and friendly club then come a long to a training session!

The women's team welcomes individuals of all abilities both beginners & experienced and it is up to the individuals if they wish to partake in matches against other universities in BUCS.

All 4 teams compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) League + Cup competitions every Wednesday afternoon, so come down & watch our matches.

Introduction

                                                                        Men’s Team

The M‌en’s team is still very young in age. The club was first founded in 2008 and was run by students. The teams play on a Wednesday afternoon and on Sunday mornings if there happens to be a fixture pile up.

However in its second year (2009-10), the club introduced the second team and both teams were promoted after a very successful season. The third team was entered in the season 2010-11, not only did all three teams win their leagues. The club then had two head coaches from Leyton Orient appointed.  Within the same year the Football Club won ‘Club of the Year 2011’ for its outstanding achievement in the BUCS competition.  2011-12 the boys kept up the demolition by winning all their leagues again to keep up the record. Can we do it again in the 2012-13 season? Of course we can! #TeamUEL

UEL Men’s Football Team competes in the BUCS South Eastern Division.
