Physical Activity and Campus Sports Descriptions

Physical Activity

  • Yoga Flex: Yoga Flex is a gentle, therapeutic and natural way to exercise. It will help you to relax, de-stress and energise, giving the body a complete workout ‘inside out’.
  • Bootcamp Circuit: Don’t be scared by the name, Bootcamp circuit is a fun way to lose weight, tone the body, strengthen your core while working at your own pace!
  • Rounders: Played indoors and outdoors at the park during the summer months with batters and fielders as usual. Great way to keep fit, meet new people and have a great time.
  • Badminton: Learn to play, or develop existing skills through coaching and match play. The aim of the game is simple – hit the shuttlecock over the net to beat your opponent.

Campus Sport

Enter a team with friends, colleagues, school/service or your halls of residence by clicking here and compete against other teams in fun sports competitions.

  • Football: A chance to compete against staff and students in 5-a-side tournament basis.
  • Basketball: A chance to compete against staff and students in 3v3 and traditional 5v5 forms of the game in a league and tournament basis.
  • Super Sumo Wrestling: Enter into the 'Super Sumo Wrestling' contest and earn points for your team. Put on the special sumo padded wrestling suit and wrestle with opponents in the best of 3 rounds. Will you be the last man or woman standing?!
  • Futsal: Originating in Brazil, a variant of football, played indoors on a smaller court and with a smaller, heavier ball. Learn the rules, practise your skills and play the game. Compete in 5v5 matches, leagues and tournaments.
  • Volleyball: 6-a-side matches/tournament played in a Sports Hall. Compete in teams against eachother with your friends and colleagues.
  • Tag Rugby: Non-contact version of rugby using velcro tags to stop opponents. 7-a-side tournament.
  • Dodgeball: Dodge the balls and hit your opponents! Be the last team standing and demonstrate your pace, balance and hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Badminton: 1v 1 round robin competiton
  • Wheelchair Basketball: For both wheelchair and non-wheelchair users, a chance to compete against staff and students in 3v3 and traditional 5v5 forms of the game in a league and tournament basis. (Wheelchairs will be provided).
  • Fun-Run: A Fun-Run, which can be sprinted, jogged or walked with friends and colleagues.
