Artist Biographies

Anne Bean has been working with sound as an 'equivalent' to visuals in Performance\installation for 35 years, exploring materials from weather balloons to honey, burning tape recorders to water-logged pianos, vacuum cleaners to electric irons.
Paul Burwell is a drummer and sound artist. He has conducted many collaborative and cross media projects in sculpture, dance, theatre, experimental music, cabaret, sound, concrete poetry, press publishing and broadcast.
Jon Carson is a performance artist working with song. He has worked extensively both in the UK and abroad.
David Chapman is a video and multimedia practitioner and sound artist. He is also a Senior lecturer in Media Production at the University of East London. His collaborator Adrian Palka is a performance artist and Senior Lecturer in Performing Arts at Coventry University.

Peter Cusack is musician who plays the guitar and saz and a sound recordist with a long-term fascination in the sounds of our environment both those of London, his home city, and worldwide.
Sean Dower is an artist who works across medium and in whose practice music, video and performance are incorporated into the wider context of the visual arts. This range of practice includes collaboration with bands, videos, composition and investigation into the culture of music.
Janek Schaefer is a London based sound artist who has worked extensively with the appropriation, alteration and abstraction of sound in context. He studied architecture at the Royal College of Art where he began working with sound by making 'Recorded Delivery', the journey of a sound activated tape recorder traveling overnight through the Post Office. He was Sound Designer of the Year in 1999, and his multi function three arm 'Tri-Phonic Turntable' is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. He performs and shows his work worldwide.
