Study Skills Workshops

Skillzone

We offer generic study skills support for Level 0 and Level 1 undergraduate students. You can access this support via:

  • 1-2-1 booked tutorials on essay writing and structure, analysing essay questions, effective note taking and more.
  • Regular weekly workshops on set topics.
  • Information and guidance on accessing other study skills support.

We offer a range of study skills workshops for Level 0 and Level 1 students in Semester B, WEEK COMMENCING 6th FEB 2012:

General study skills

This workshop is an opportunity for students in their first year of undergraduate study to develop skills for higher education.

Mondays 2pm UH1.36, Stratford

Tips for using arguments

These group workshops are designed to teach Level 0 and Level 1 students the basics of using evidence to make arguments in essays.

Tuesdays 11am EB.3.11, Docklands

Tips for note taking

This workshop is aimed at students who are new to attending lectures and participating in seminars. It will include guidance on preparing for classes, taking and making notes, and using what you have learned.

Fridays 10am EB.1.41, Docklands

Tips for revision

This workshop is aimed at Level 0 and Level 1 students who are new to preparing for tests and exams in Higher Education.
