Introductory ICT Workshop in Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

These FREE four week programmes, delivered in both semester A and semester B, are aimed at new learners who want to improve their ICT skills in preparation for an undergraduate degree at UEL. On the course you will learn:

  • Microsoft Word 2007 for Beginners: At this workshop, you will learn how to load Word 2007 and understand the features, how to open, create and save a document and how to select characters, words, lines, sentences, paragraphs and entire document in order to write and format assignments. The workshop will also demonstrate how to mail merge documents and how to copy and save documents onto different storage devices.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 for Beginners: This session gives new learners an opportunity to learn how to load PowerPoint and understand its features, how to work with the Quick Access Toolbar, how to open and create a presentation, how to select layouts and insert slides, charts, tables, pictures and youtube clips and how to use animations and how to insert a text box.
  • Microsoft Excel 2007 for Beginners: At the this workshop, you will learn how to use Excel and understand its features; including how to work with the Quick Access Toolbar, how to understand new file formats and compatibility, how to enter numeric data and use formulas and functions, how to format numbers and how to edit cells. You will also learn how to add header and footer, how to adjust margins and how to work with tables and charts.
