Summer Schools at UEL are back!
UEL have 5 brilliant summer school opportunities coming up for local school students.
They are completely FREE and guaranteed to inspire, engage and inform.
Aims:
- To give students a real life experience of how subjects can be studied at university.
- To work with lecturers that are experts in their field and industry professionals to develop
skills and knowledge that will enthuse students and build confidence.
- To meet and work with current undergraduates to find out what university is really like.
- To inform students about future subject choices and career planning.

Step up your STEM skills Year 12 Summer School
Monday 17th – Thursday20th June 2013
- Are you in year 12 studying Sciences, Maths, Design Technology, ICT or a BTEC in Applied Science?
- Do you want to gain real practical experiences in Architecture, Computing, Product Design and Engineering?
Students will also take part in sessions on researching university courses, using UCAS Apply, what makes a good personal statement and HE finance.

CREATE Year 10 summer school @ UEL
Tuesday 2nd– Friday 5th July 2013
Do you enjoy being creative but don’t know where it could take you in the future?
Are you interested in Photography, Design or Fashion?
- Students will work with lectures and industry professionals and take part in practical activities in Photography, Design and Fashion.
- Experience what it takes to study at University and develop skills for a creative career

Aspire Year 9 summer school @ UEL
Tuesday 9th – Thursday11th July 2013
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a great leader?
Would you like to learn how to influence your own success?
- Students will gain a true exploration of practical activities that will develop their leadership skills.
- Work with fellow students to develop an idea and lead on making it real back in school.

On Track Year 10 residential summer school @ UEL
Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th July 2013
Are you interested in getting “On Track” to a future in Sport, Science, Psychology or Health?
Would you like to meet and be coached by elite athletes?
Students will gain a true exploration of practical activities in a range of subjects including- Sport Science, Psychology and Podiatry.
Students will spend your days at Stratford Campus taking part in project work, challenges and using the latest labs and technology to showcase your finding. Docklands campus will be where students spend their evenings and nights staying in halls of residence and use Sports Dock - UEL’s world class sporting facilities.
