Pre-Entry Skills

Accessing Skills for Higher Education (ASHE)

Date: Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June 2013

Time: 10am – 3pm 

Room: RB.2.23, Stratford Campus

Accessing Skills for Higher Education (ASHE) is a free two day intensive pre-entry skills programme for people who are considering doing an undergraduate degree at UEL. The programme is useful for applicants who have been out of education for a while or would like to brush up on their study skills before starting a degree.

Participants will discover tips for:

  • Referencing
  • Reading
  • Note taking
  • Essay writing
  • Presentations

Attendance on both days is compulsory.

Following the ASHE programme, participants who go on to commence an undergraduate degree at UEL will be able to access a range of support to enhance their study skills, including Skillzone, the Writing Centre, the Language Centre, online resources and a compulsory subject-specific module designed to introduce skills necessary for academic learning in Higher Education.
