Thursday 7th March - Health Professionals Careers Day
Jo Richardson Community School, Dagenham
The Education and Community Partnerships Team have been asked to help organise speakers from our School of Health, Sport & Bioscience. Speakers will be giving presentations to 160 Year 9 and 10 students from all schools in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
The event will give students an insight into various careers related to Health and Social Care including:
Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Veterinary Medicine, Paramedics, Radiography, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Speech Therapy, Youth Work, Occupational therapy, alternative medicine and therapies.

14th -17th March 2013 - Big Bang UK Science and Engineering Fair

UEL will join with major international players including Rose Rolls, EADS and BAE to inspire the country’s future Scientists and Engineers. The fair, which is the biggest of its kind in the country, will see over 65,000 visitors pass through Excel Exhibition Centre
UEL will be represented by our schools of Architecture, Computing and Engineering (ACE), Psychology and Health, Sports and Biosciences and as well as Education and Community Partnerships.
Visit our stands at the fair to see demonstrations on the use of green technology in the fields of product design, engineering and computing. Our school of psychology will be demonstrating the science behind tarot card reading, while HSB will test our fitness levels. Visitors will also get advice on applying for HE programmes and personal statement surgeries.
Wednesday 9 & 23 January, 6 & 27 February 2013 - Making your application count workshop
Stratford Campus, 1pm - 2pm

Applying to university can be confusing for mature students; choosing a course, meeting deadlines and what to include in a personal statement. The pre-entry team at UEL works with prospective students in trying to help them through this process. This workshop helps to demystify the application process and is for anyone considering making an application to university this year.

Thursday 6 December 2012 – Finding out about University for school and college staff

This event aims to provide staff within our partner schools and colleges with an opportunity to find out about the University of East London and meet colleagues within our schools and services. It will enable you to discover the breadth of services and provision at UEL as well as the opportunity to speak to key staff you may wish to develop a working partnership with or if you would like to know more about a specific area of interest.

Friday 14 December 2012 - University Indoor Rowing Challenge & Careers Fair
Sports Dock, Docklands Campus, 9am - 3pm

In partnership with London Youth Rowing, the University of East London are hosting an Indoor Rowing Challenge for students in years 11, 12 and 13 at our state-of-the-art Sports Dock facility.
Taking part in this exciting indoor race pursuit, students will be battling it out for the fastest time as well as the chance to be talent-spotted for the next generation of east end rowing stars .
The all-important prize giving will also be presented by our extra special guest VIP. Alongside this event will be dedicated careers fair with stalls on sport, health, leisure, career opportunities, apprenticeships and education.
