
UEL is committed to enable care leavers to enter higher education and has developed an enhanced package of finance and student support to do this. We work closely with organisations such as the Mayors Office and Buttle UK to make sure that we offer a service based on good practice to prospective students from a care background.
UEL defines a care leaver as:
UEL offer an enhanced package of funding to careleavers in the form of non-repayable bursaries under the followingcategories:
Care Leavers Bursary: Any full-time undergraduate ‘home’ student who lives in, or has ever lived in, local authority care may be entitled to a bursary worth £1,000 per year.
