9) How do I find out whether I am allowed to deposit in roar?

Check the agreement you signed with your publisher

10) Can I make changes to a copyright agreement?

It depends on your publisher

11) Why do I need to send roar full text not just publication details?

visibility, accessibility and preservation

12) Which version of my journal article should I submit to roar?

The accepted author's manuscript or “post print” version

13) What format should my document be in for roar?

Any format

14) Should I update roar with my entire back catalogue of work?

Yes - we would like that!

15) Can you put everything I've published into roar for me? Yes - but you need to send it!
16) Does deposit in roar mean that I've published my work?

Yes - as far as publishers are concerned

17) Can I deposit an article when I have a patent pending?

Yes - we will embargo access

18) How should I cite items from repositories like roar? Cite the published version. For page references of roar manuscripts cite the published version but also cite the roar URI.
19) What’s the relationship between the REF publications database and roar?

REF eligible content submitted to roar will also go into the REF database

20) Who else uses an institutional repository?

Thousands of institutions worldwide

21) Is statistical information available on who is downloading my work?

Yes

22) How will people find my article?

Via any search engine

23) What’s the relationship between my website and roar?

You can create links to the full text of your article

24) Will my articles be available permanently on this repository?

Yes – minimum 10 years

25) Is roar a secure service?

Yes

26) What if I’m worried about making draft versions available? Decide which is most important for you: access or presentation
27) What about Citation Dilution – will it affect me if I upload my publications? No
28) Will I be more vulnerable to plagiarism?

No
