Applying for accommodation step by step

Step 1: Log on to UEL Direct

You will find the link to UEL Direct at, www.uel.ac.uk  underneath the undergraduate tab

Step 2: Logging on to UEL Direct

Your user name is your unique UEL student number – e.g: U1234567.  And password is initially set as your date of birth (format: dd-mmm-yy)

Step 3: UEL Direct

  • Follow the tab at the top of the page to “My Record”, and then the link on the left hand side for “My Accommodation”
  • You should then see the 5 steps of accommodation and information about applying;
  • Applying for accommodation – please read

Step 4: Registering and Applying for accommodation (step 1):

Before you can log onto here they will need to register their personal details to create a password to open an account for UEL halls accommodation, to receive a verification code by email.
To register follow the big blue “Here” at the top of the page, after clicking on step 1

Once you have registered, check your email for your validation code for registering successfully.
You can now log onto the accommodation page, using your personal email, password and validation code as you just registered.

Once in your accommodation account follow the link on the left hand side, “applications”.
You will then see a link at the bottom “create  application”  To enter your preferences and type of room you would like.

Step 5: Paying the Accommodation deposit and advance Rent payment:

You will only see this link if there is available spaces in halls and you are eliable to live in halls.  If you cannot see this link please contact Residential Services to clarify if you can make a payment over the phone or not.
The deposit is £250 and an advanced rent payment of £500, subject to a room being available.

Once you have completed the above, you will be allocated a room in halls – at which you need to return to the accommodation log on to complete the steps 3-5 accepting your room offer and setting up a payment plan for the remaining instalments of rent for when you are here.
