If you apply for accommodation before 5pm on 14th August 2013 and subsequently pay your deposit and prepayment (£750.00) by 5pm on the 19th August 2013, you are guaranteed to be accommodated by the University* if you meet the guarantee criteria.
To be eligible for this guarantee you must be a first year undergraduate / postgraduate student and live over 90 minutes away from your campus of study. **Priority is given to students who have a disability that requires them to live on campus. All students must accept a rental agreement for a full academic year (September to mid June). This condition does not apply to single semester students.
*UEL reserves the right to accommodate students off campus if demand is such that the advertised accommodation is over 100% occupied.
**To be eligible to live in the Student Village you must be aged 18 by the date you move into halls
If you are an international student studying at UEL for the first time, you will be eligible for a place in our halls of residence regardless of what year you will be entering. You can apply as soon as you have received your Confirmation of Acceptance to studies letter from the University's International Admissions office and paid your deposit and prepayment of £750.00 to secure your place. Please note that by paying your accommodation deposit and prepayment and accepting the agreement you are committed to the tenancy.
Unfortunately we cannot house any students under 18 years old. The preferred option in these cases is for the students to stay in Home Stay until they are 18 and then to move into Halls. Please contact us if this applies to yourself.
We have a number of rooms designed especially for students with disabilities or special needs. Contact the staff in Residential Services to discuss your individual needs. Students with disabilities are given priority in the allocation of Halls of Residence and you are usually allowed to remain in halls throughout your time at UEL. Make sure you have clearly told us on your application form about the kind of disability or special need you have, so that your application can be prioritised..
