My flatmate keeps having lots of people round making it difficult for me to use the kitchen. What can I do? Try and talk to your flatmate making them aware of the problem you are having, if the problem persists inform Residential Services. Residents are responsible for their guests and must be with them at all times. It is not permitted for guests to visit daily and use the facilities.
What can I do about students being noisy at night in halls? You can call security and tell them about the disturbance and where it is coming from. They will ask the resident(s) to lower or turn the music down. Residential Services will then follow the complaint up the next working day.
My flatmate's are using / allowing their guest to use drugs, what should I do? Contact security who will inform the police. You will also need to fill in a complaints form, which will be confidential, stating who you saw taking the drugs and where. Residential Services will take the appropriate action. Please try to inform us at the time it is actually taking place so action is at its most effective.
Complaints, comments and compliments can also be reported to Residential Services electronically via the form below but please note they will only be dealt with during office hours. For urgent problems outside of these times contact Security Staff. Anti Social Behaviour is dealt with in line with our ASB policy. In the majority of cases we encourage resident to attempt to resolve the problem themselves as we feel this is an important part of personal development at University. However if you do not feel you can resolve the problem yourself please report it to a member of Residential Services.
What is ASB?
Anti Social behaviour is conduct that is capable of causing a nuisance or annoyance to any person. The following list is examples of that behaviour. This list is not exhaustive;
To not be anti social is to be a good neighbour. For example, many students who live in halls are here because they want to study and so they need time to concentrate. Therefore, playing loud music is preventing them from being happy in their home and in turn is being anti social.

Reporting ASB
A complaint of Anti Social Behaviour can be made to any member of staff. This can initially be done verbally, by email, by telephone, by letter or through a third party.
