Research Themes

Many of the research issues we seek to address demand an interdisciplinary approach. At UEL, we are adept at bringing multidisciplinary teams together to focus on complex projects.

Our six research themes reflect the breadth and range of our research activity and not only build on our strengths but provide a focus for increasing research capacity and funding.

While the themes enhance our interdisciplinary nature, our collaborative approach extends beyond traditional academic boundaries. Through our Research Institutes, Centres and Groups and our Research and Development support service, we work with hundreds of public sector, business and community partners, from the UN, governments and multinational corporations to local schools, voluntary and community groups.
