The following are current projects supported by the ReDS team.

E-ViEW

ReDS have supported UELConnect in the project development and management of a collaborative European Lifelong Learning Project called E-ViEW (European Virtual Environment for Work-based Learning). Project partners are developing and piloting a European Virtual Campus customised for learners in the work place which will focus on enhancing their management skills and competences within a European context. EUREKA

The Eureka Project is designed to help businesses implement sustainable practices that will increase the competitiveness of businesses and enable them to meet environmental requirements in public sector tenders. The project is delivered by CITE, for more information visit EUREKA

Success Story

It does the Job

It Does The Job is a new company which produces sustainable energy products. The company which was launched just over a year ago has recently been developing 'The Badini Motor'. The company director Dwight Wood, wanted to research methods into the concept of over-unity and if this was possible. The concept of the Badini Motor is that it will create more energy than is put into it, creating a more efficient and cost effective product. Eureka has enabled Dwight to construct a prototype of the Badini Motor and it is now being tested. Although the project will finish before the product is ready for market it has helped Dwight to produce the product which will help the business on a long term basis.


Innovation 4 Growth

 Kidz4Mation

The Innovation 4 Growth project is designed to help businesses to develop innovative products, identify new markets, and implement improved business processes.The project is delivered by Knowledge Dock, for more information visit I4G

Success Story

Kidz4Mation had developed a positivity toolkit for the child development market. Through I4G, the company worked with Professor Irvine Gersch, School of Psychology to evaluate the efficiency and credibility of their project. In-depth analysis and market testing was carried out by Professor Gersch. The project played a fundamental role in shaping product development, especially with a view to the schools market.


M-Com

The M-com project aims to support London based SMEs by developing a mobile commerce toolkit that enables them to implement services and processes that are accessible on mobile devices such as smart phones. The project is delivered by CITE, for more information visit M-Com.


KTP

The KTP programme is funded by the Technology Strategy Board and works to increase knowledge transfer activity across the UK. A KTP project is a collaboration between an organisation, an academic (or team of academics) and a graduate (known as a KTP Associate). The programme is managed by the ReDS team.

Success Stories

Powerchex

Powerchex

Powerchex is a pre-employment screening company.

The KTP project it is participating in has delivered a customised, secure and automated IT infrastructure, designed to help the company streamline its operations and improve its productivity. The project has been overseen by CITE’s Dr Haris Mouratidis.

Rawell

Rawell Environmental is a major supplier of bentonite-based waterproofing materials. It worked with CITE to develop apparatus and testing protocols for assessing liquid and gas phase diffusion characteristics through Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs).

"The new product that the student and I developed is already being manufactured, and we've established a very good working relationship with the company." Professor Devapriya Wijeyesekera, CITE.
