New Project: The health of asylum seekers and refugees in England. 2000-2007. A systematic review of research evidence.
This is a new project for the Refugee Council Archive at UEL working in conjunction wih the Refugee Research Centre at UEL and Dr. Pauline Lane. " While refugees and asylum seekers may have significant health problems associated with forced migration there are currently few systematic reviews of the research evidence. This study seeks to identify the evidence base of refugees and asylum seekers health issues and to develop resources that will inform the commissioning and delivery of primary care services. In addition, the study will contribute to the health section of the Refugee Archive at UEL by depositing primary source material that will be of use to archive users and other stakeholders including Primary Care Trusts, health professionals, professional researchers, teachers, the legal profession, journalists, and local authorities." (Dr. Pauline Lane).
The Department of Health Asylum Seeker Co-ordination Team (ASCT) has very kindly provided funding for this project and further updates regarding the ongoing nature
of the project will be made availble in dour course.
There are no current exhibitions to report at present.
