A standardised approach to referencing is being implemented at UEL, beginning with first year undergraduate students in 2010-11. Implementation for all other students will take place in 2011-12.
Docklands Library and Trading floor has been refurbished to improve cooling and noise control; six teaching areas on the ground floor have been enclosed to provide better and quieter teaching accommodation.
There is now an increased and enhanced provision of social space for students, for example redecorated Atrium, new seating in university square and along the dockside, new social space at Aqua East, new seating in Stratford, refurbished and updated bars and cafeterias.

A volunteering module has been introduced to enable students to obtain academic credit for volunteering activity. You can access the volunteering module ED2500 from your second year onwards and must be currently volunteering in any area. The module is University Wide so all students can access the module as an optional module or as an additional seventh module.
There’s a new online resource, ‘Get That Job’, offers access to vital practical know-how such as writing a great CV, gaining useful experience, networking and how to answer common interview questions. See www.uelconnect.org.uk/employability
