The Work of The Team
The quality assurance and enhancement team is responsible for the development and implementation of our University's quality assurance procedures. All quality assurance procedures are set down in the Quality Manual.
- Quality Assurance - the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures, including annual review via the Review and Enhancement Process. Procedures are attached for the validation of new programmes of study, validation of modifications to existing programmes, validation of collaborative programmes and Periodic Academic Review. The team also administers our University's procedures for academic appeals , complaints and extenuation.
- Central University Committees - providing support for servicing the committees and, where appropriate, drafting papers and policy documents. Details of the relationships between university committees, plus Membership, Terms of Reference and Minutes of recent meetings can be found on UEL Committee Pages.
- External Examiners - management of our University's External Examiner system. This includes the processing of nominations, appointments, fee payments and external examiners' annual reports.
- Quality enhancement - Our enhancement activity incorporates a number of strands, including enhancement arising from assurance processes and supporting the enhancement of the student learning experience together with colleagues in Learning, Teaching and Assessment. We support the sharing good practice sessions.
- Audit We take a leading role in preparing our University for audit by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).
