Brief biography

Rowan has taught, investigated and written about three main areas of psychology for over twenty-five years: psychological type theory in its MBTI sense, counsellor education and training and assertiveness training. He has worked with many organisations, including British Rail, City of London and the BBC. He has published eighteen books and over 150 articles, papers and chapters. His previous work was research and training in selection, especially selection interviewing, with the Civil Service Department in London. His PhD from Aberdeen University was on the meaning and measurement of self-disclosure, and he was a member of the expert panel of three psychologists tested in the BBC 1 programme “What am I Like? The Personality Test” (September 2004).
