Brief biography

Nelica has a senior lecturer role in the School of Psychology. Her responsibilities include programme leader for the post graduate Diploma in Career Guidance, supervision for MA Careers and module leader on the MSc International Humanitarian Psychosocial Consultation.

She is actively involved with national and international research and consultancy relating to career guidance and is currently working on a pan-European Erasmus Network (2009–12), led by the University of Heidelberg, which promotes innovative approaches to the training of career guidance professionals. She has been involved with the co-ordination of various EU-funded projects including a Socrates-funded international project developing guidelines for the use of web-based tools, which won a National Career Award in 2004 and ICT Skills 2 (2007–9), which developed guidelines for training of guidance practitioners in the use of ICT.

Nelica was previously employed in a range of research, management and consultancy roles in the voluntary and public sectors. Work contexts have included town planning, community enterprise and policy development. She is qualified to Masters level in Occupational Psychology and Planning and completed an award for Mediation and Conflict Resolution from Birkbeck in 2011.
