Dr Gannon completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in psychology at Trinity College, Dublin. He then undertook training in clinical psychology in the St John of God Services, Dublin. Following this he moved to St Mary’s Hospital London to undertake postdoctoral research into recurrent miscarriage. He continued his postdoctoral work in University College London on accidents in medicine. He spent over ten years as a lecturer in behavioural science in the school of medicine at QMUL and moved to UEL in 2002 to take up the post of Research Director on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme. Dr Gannon’s research interests lie in the broad area of health psychology. He also has an interest in the psychosocial consequences of visible difference. He was co-editor of the Journal of Reproductive an Infant Psychology for several years and was also Chair of the Society for Reproductive and Infant Psychology, so he also has a broad interest in all aspects of human reproduction.
