Brief biography

Paula completed her Psychology BSc at the University of East London before spending time as a Research Assistant in the School of Health and Biosciences. She is currently a PhD student in the School of Psychology, investigating the effects of hydration on the mood and cognitive performance of schoolchildren.

Areas of Interest/Summary of Expertise

Hydration, Cognition and Mood in Primary Schoolchildren — Recent studies include the effects of water supplementation on the cognitive performance of children at school. Currently, Paula is measuring and assessing the effects of dehydration on cognitive performance and mood, and the prevalence of children coming to primary school in a dehydrated state. In the future, she hopes to extend her work to looking at the effects of water supplementation and dehydration in adolescents.
