About Counselling

Our programmes in Counselling and in Coaching are located within the School of Psychology which offers them the unique advantage of embedding expertise in psychological concepts, counselling principles and coaching theory in the teaching of their respective professional training.

Grounded within a strong research culture, our postgraduate Counselling and Coaching programmes are recognised nationally and internationally for their rigor and excellence and as pioneers in expanding their curriculum to encompass new developments in theory, and approaches to practice. Through Counselling and Coaching programmes our School also acts as accreditation partner for numerous training organisations across the UK and soon from Europe.

The Counselling and Coaching programmes accept students from diverse backgrounds, with diverse life experiences and journeys leading to choosing to enter in helping professions. Our students can also progress from undergraduate counselling and coaching programmes onto postgraduate training courses including MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy, MSc Coaching; MSc Coaching Psychology; or MSc Career Coaching.  The School also offers MSc in International Humanitarian Psychosocial Consultation studies.
