Combined Honours Programmes

Surveying & Mapping Sciences (Major, Joint or Minor)

Campus: Docklands

Why Study Surveying & Mapping Sciences as part of a Combined Honours Degree?

This programme is concerned with the mapping of the earth’s surface and the management of the information gathered. Combining the skills of physics, mathematics, environmental science and IT, you will learn how to map, measure and analyse spatial measurements for a variety of uses.

The degree is designed to give you the opportunity to appreciate both the technological and practical aspects of the subjects. It provides an understanding of the scientific principles, supported by practical application, of the surveying profession today and in the future. Together with core transferable skills that the programme also develops, this degree will provide a solid basis for a career in a profession with a wide range of employment opportunities both in the UK and overseas.

We have over 50 years experience in teaching Surveying and Mapping (Geomatics) and have developed programmes which are current and will give you the opportunity to develop your understanding and skills. Our programmes have long been recognised in Industry as providing graduates with a wide range of practical and theoretical skills. With a large proportion of laboratory and practical work you will reinforce the theories and practices learnt in the classroom with 'hands on' experience. Our programmes offer you the opportunity to study the fundamental knowledge and theories enquired by all Surveyors and apply these to the practical work environment.
