These programmes focus on the development of information systems, including their analysis, design and construction and how they can be used to meet business needs. Graduates from these programmes may look towards careers in requirements analysis and in business computing.
We offer a number of different Combined Honours programmes for Computing which allow you to choose how much of your time you wish to spend studying this subject. You can choose which options you wish to study depending upon your interests and ambitions.
You can view a full guide to the modules you have to study as part of your chosen pathway, along with a full range of option modules available by viewing the Single & Combined Honours Programmes Guide for Business Information Systems
All our Combined Honours Programmes can be studied on a Part-time or Full-time basis. As a Part-time student, you will study the same degree programme, but at a slower pace. You will study up to 4 modules per year (instead of 6 as a full-time student).
A background in computing would enhance your career opportunities if you wished to pursue a career that involved systems analysis, technical support, network design, database design and administration, software development or technology management.
Major pathways in Computing give partial exemption from the British Computer Society examinations.
Opportunities exist for students following some of the Major Computing programmes to spend a placement year working with an organisation. This allows you to gain valuable experience in an area in which you may decide to develop your career, whilst establishing useful contacts.
We have over 5000 different combinations and you can choose from over 75 pathways. Please visit the Combined Honours Programmes page for a full list
Please note that the timetabling for this pathway is currently under review and some combinations may require evening attendance. Please check with the School of Combined Honours for further details.
240 UCAS tariff points (including two passes at A2 level) plus GCSE Maths and English grade C or above.
